About repoduction business shit

Ok, I finally got from my real life to write this post since been thinking about it for quite a while already. First and foremost, NEITHER ME NOR ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND COLLABORATORS SUPPORT REPRODUCTION TRADE. I'm sick and tired to see the work we put so much effort into sold on etsy or other garbage bins. ALL OUR TRANSLATIONS ARE INTENDED TO BE FREE AND NEVER TO BE DISTRIBUTED FOR ANY PRICE.

NEITHER ME NOR ANY OF MY FRIENDS AND COLLABORATORS EVER ASK MONEY FOR OUR WORKS. And I mean all works, including hacking, translation, manual graphics and so on.

WE IN NO WAY ENCOURAGE PIRACY OF GAMING (OR OTHER) SOFTWARE. So, dear David Florida and other motherfuckers selling their repro shit with our (or someone else's) translations - please, get your lousy excuses 'bout "support to the scene" and "making this only for friends" or "we only sell one copy per person to cover our expenses", roll 'em up and stuff as deep into your arses as you can - I believe in you, morons, don't let me down. You trying to fuck just game devs here - you're trying to fuck the scene, and tbh - you're the biggest discouragent I ever had in my translation efforts. One thing is to get a glossy copy for you or your friend and another one - putting this all into fucking serial production.

For the time being,

1. I put all my current projects on hold (there're like 10 of them) and watch over this situation closer.
2. I'm seriously reconsidering any further work on disc-based games.
3. Most likely, no more manuals in English will follow from now on (yeah, bastards, try at least mastering the fucking photoshop and google translate instead of stealing everything).
4. I'm seriously reconsidering of putting the translations into the public web.
5. And, yeah, to those guys who actually buy from the above - cheers - your support is very important for them but don't come here crying and asking for a new work.

PS: The above should not be taken deeply by guys making collector's editions, spare boxes or other handmade gaming merchandize putting a lot of their heart into those - that's pure art, and I respect that, guys.

End of message for now.

    1. We don't do it for money, and as I said it above - all activities have been stopped. Say thank you for reprofuckers and those who finance them.

  2. I'm very sorry to hear that. You guys have done incredible work. And If it wasn't for you, me and my friends never would have experience this game. And now it's one of my top 10 favorite Saturn games of all time. I hope one day you will be inspired to work on another game. Until then, I offer you my sincerest thank you. You deserve it and more.

    1. Thank you for these words, we appreciete this. Don't bother if messages don't appear straight away - they're pre-moderated first.

  3. I never have thought about this topic this way. Good to know! Thank you for sharing yours and everyone's hard work with us, your translations will bring me joy and for many others, thanks!

  4. Have you contacted any of them to have them stop? I know one on etsy told me he didn't offer the Shining Force III translations anymore because someone who helped make it asked him to stop so he did (I think the seller you specifically named).

  5. So who is allowed to sell your Translations? Just SaturnDave? That guy has sold probably a couple hundred of these...He is the only one allowed?

    1. No one is. None of our translations are or ever will be meant for sale. Capiche?

    2. I'll keep that fuck in mind, though. Thanks for the hint.

    3. After a short invetsigation:
"SaturnDave only sells the manuals and inserts – you’ll have to source the longbox jewel cases yourself, but fortunately that’s not the problem it once was. The reproduction long-box jewel cases (second version) being sold on Amazon are very good quality. He’s also planning on providing pre-printed CD-Rs with this one that buyers will then be responsible for writing the patched game to themselves."

For the time being, and if that's true, we have nothing against it since it's his genuine work, and he does it pretty good. I'm still kinda interested what's inside those booklets (if that's our work or not), but that's the lesser of the issues.

    1. Poss, have you seriously come here just to shite in the bushes so for me to know how much you don't care? A joke about my mom comes next? Learn the fucking read, retard, then actually DO something for the scene, like at least some of the "shit" ye call it, then open yer lousy mouth to come here and babble. Capiche, boyo? Dismissed.

  7. I wish you the best, but I wouldn't drop from the scene or stop your work, but I'm not you, so I can't tell you what to do. People like you and the others that work in the scene are really what gets new and old gamers to enjoy these amazing games that otherwise would be outside their reach. I've translated a few games myself on SNES, NES and NGPC or worked on main menu title hacks for JAPANESE to ENGLISH conversions. This will always happen, it sucks. I've made a few of my own reproductions over time, I love making manual translations etc. so much fun to see the end product.

  9. Thank you for all your hard work and the team! I never seen soo much of a high production from a translation patch before ! Very professional! But what is with the date of this post? It says Tuesday, April 30, 2024... not sure if this was recently or not

  10. You might consider making versions that only run on emulators, not on the mainframe

  11. My response to your whining would be that I don't charge people for the translation, I charge them for the parts required to make a physical game and the time and energy I spent doing it. Some folks want physical cartridges, not everyone can do that.

    1. Lol, of course you don't charge for translation and hacking, rofl, only "for your energy". Of course, you're doing it to PROVIDE FOR THE PEOPLE! How could I've been so dumb not to see this altruistic martyr??? Keep this bull for the Tax Office, my little faggot. All your time and energy is worth zero without content, which you simply steal without bothering to ask for permission, and you're too fucking dumb to produce any, so stuff that argument into that small pathetic arse of yours and go cry this shit to etsy admins or something.

  12. I was on archive, looked for Ecsaform didn't find it. Googled it. Found CDromance. Of course prepatched... Of course an outdated version of the translation. At least the unpatched version was in there somewhere. I'm coming from a Saturn homebrew community with lots of translations and everyone there is also pretty pissed about their traffic and work being stolen.

    1. The translation being shared freely is one thing (even if being prepatched), selling it is something totally different. For the time being, there's only one version of the Ecsaform translation, though. We haven't updated it yet - waiting for some more feedback.

  13. So, full disclosure, I like having physical games. I like having the NA translated reproductions on my shelf. As someone who bought a Sega Saturn when it launched (and still have it) I was always pissed so many good titles never got translated for Sega of America.

I've found someone who does high quality repros who appears to give full credit to the translators. Have you thought about teaming up with someone to offer physical copies of your translation work? I, for one, would be right there to grab a physical copy of Linkle Liver Story.

  14. Start reproducin you own trannslated games so, otherwise would be impossible for people to play on original supports...only emulators or flash carts...
